Seriously, not gay. But.

As I write this, I note that there's no catagory that "interior design" might possibly fall under, in the list of pre-fab MySpace blog topic categories.

Yesterday I spent a short amount of time wandering the pathways of Bolingbrook Ikea. It is a testament to how nerdy/older I've gotten that this was somewhat like the experience a child must have in a candy store. I am way younger inside than my years might suggest, a pretty cool blend of wisdom, youthful outlook, experience, and birthdays all rolled into one; but I was almost tingly, walking around looking at all the things there at Ikea.

"ooooooh, that couch would look -amazing- in the living room..."

"How can they sell that dining room table for so little??"

"I could replace all the discombobulated flatware with cool stuff for less than $20... Jesus..."

And so on.

I make a more-than-good living, I have a new business, I will be getting an astronomical tax return this year, and my interests are shifting just a bit. Maybe not shifting, but building. In addition to all the things I was interested in before, I am now interested in doing up my space, in a huge way. I'm lucky to have a cool roomate in on this, as well ( who is not gay either, not that there's anything wrong with that ) and who's down with the whole decor thing.

As I've said previously, I'm going through this stage a bit late, and with strange timing. I've had many places- apartments and a large house, but before I had not even a passing interest in making my mark on those spaces. Now I seem to be squarely in the stage most people are in when they have their first place, just after finishing undergrad.

If you have design taste, I would be interested in getting some advice and input; I might not take it, but I want to get it.

And... as soon as I can figure out how to port all these entries to somethign like TypePad, I'm going to move my blog out of MySpace. More on this soon.

: )
