Bridge Nazis

They're nice people. They have an opinion. they expressed it without malice, violence or far-reaching intent.

People went fucking crazy.

Not all people... just the sort of people in your office who take you aside after you told a joke all three people laughed at, and seriously warned you in the condescending way about Sexual Harassment. The people that bob their heads up and down as they Listen to Rush and Sean. The people who have no idea what the definition of "treason" and "sedition' are... but who would send many emails using both terms with spite and anger. these people went crazy.

The US Bridge Team accepted the world championship prize, adn during their acceptance speech showed a little handmade sign that said "We did not vote for Bush."

1. True
2. legal
3. non-harmful
4. not against the World Bridge Championship's rules.

a quoted bit of the article:

It calls for a one-year suspension from federation events, including the World Bridge Olympiad next year in Beijing; a one-year probation after that suspension; 200 hours of community service “that furthers the interests of organized bridge”; and an apology drafted by the federation’s lawyer.

It would also require them to write a statement telling “who broached the idea of displaying the sign, when the idea was adopted, etc.”

Alan Falk, a lawyer for the federation, wrote the four team members on Nov. 6, “I am instructed to press for greater sanction against anyone who rejects this compromise offer.”

Nazis. No bridge for me.
