Testing... testing...

So, I'm here in the la-dee-dah suburb of Brookfield ( of Milwaukee ). I'm doing a remote usability test; The test participant and I are here... and via a videoconference link we're connected to the Usability observers, notetakers and various bigwigs ( stakeholders ) who observe the test.

Usually, we do this in the lab we have set up in the Madison. It's kinda cool that I get to do this, and it's really a better test, all around. If we do testing in Madison, then we tend to get the whole corporate headquarters responses back to our questions... which often have little to do with how "normal people" in the field would respond. So the data from these tests is better.

Also, an even cooler thing about these remote tests is that I can practice doing yet another aspect of my job remotely, so at some point I can definitely leave the burden of geogrphical dependance... work from Hawaii : )

It also keeps me away from teh politics and the BS that is usually assocaited with tests; all of the stakeholders and their complaining are tucked away 80 miles away in Madison. Whooohooo.

Anyway... more later, I'm sure.

I have to decide for this weekend- come down to Chicago or stay up here in Madison. Chris will be out of town, and Paul works all the time, and Andy is down at ISU.

Sooooooooooo. I could hang out at Panera a lot... but that gets old, when you're not being especially social ; )
