Here's a cute little thingy ( link down below ) someone put together that demonstrates ( in a way ) what I do. It's a poke at Microsoft, and is of course in that respect an anti-example. It's a few-moments-look at the iPod ( the box, specifically ) and demonstrates how it would be done up if Microsoft were the lead in the marketing effort, instead of Apple.
It's all about aethetics, information architecture ( what goes where, and why, and how that balances with all the other elements ), usability, and design, as well as factoring in client considerations ( we really like "blue", here. Our research tells us people -trust- "blue" ).
The short is about a non-web interface, in this case, the iPod box. But it's still a good demonstration that touches on the issues and concepts I work with every day.
Among other things, I design websites, surveys, desktop applications, and whatnot... taking all of these factors into consideration, to deliver the most useful thing to the people using it. Whatever "it" is.
iPod, done the MS way
As if you cared : )~
